The Automotive training program at Pohanka, will train students for the career of Certified Automotive Technician. This will allow students to work in the field of transportation and the automobile service industry. As part of the program, students are given the opportunity to learn to use specialized equipment and tools as well as late model vehicles. Varied teaching methods are used to enhance the learning process, including classroom lectures, discussions, shop demonstrations, computerized automotive simulators, and hands-on activities. Communication skills are an essential part of daily classroom instruction. Written and verbal skills are reinforced to ensure the student will be successful in the industry.
Something very unique about PATC is that Pohanka offers a program that allows for students to attend the academy free of charge. This is assuming that the student meets all of the necessary requirements and obligations apart of the program.

Automobiles today are very complex machines, which require new technology and a high level of skills to repair. Because the consumer’s expectations with regard to quality and durability have increased, the repair industry must meet these higher expectations.
Through learning experiences in a hands-on and classroom environment, students will receive instruction in basic life skills, physical science, chemistry, mathematics, general work ethics and technological systems related to today’s complex automobiles.
